A Day With Sue | Episode 1 (Part 1)

This series blog post is going to be recording one day of my life that I deem worthy of keeping it as a memory. Maybe some times in the future when I look back at this post, I will remember the memories and what exactly had happened instead of bits and pieces. We ought to get old someday and our memory will not be able to remember all the details. I hope I can keep my memory locked in 'A Day With Sue' series and remember all the good times I had. #positivevibes hehehe

Episode 1: Genting bound. (Part 1)

*This post will be split into two because it's too image and text heavy.

On my long weekend (1st May - 4th May), my parents and relatives from Penang came to KL and then to Genting for a short trip. At first, I did not intend to follow them but then mom told me they got free rooms and the trip is only for one night. Since we are still on long holiday, of course I jumped at that idea and asked the boyfriend along!

I've always liked impromptu trips because I don't expect then when it happens, I get super excited! We actually packed on the morning of the trip itself since it's only a one night trip, we don't really need to pack a lot. Also, we are running late as we woke up after my family had their breakfast so instead of grabbing breakfast, we drove through Starbucks and got ourselves coffee (chocolate for the little boy as he don't take coffee) and some light snacks.

We arrived at Genting a little past 1pm. The traffic in Genting leading to the parking was bad and there are dust everywhere because of the renovation (can't wait for the 20th Century Fox Theme Park!) so we can't open the windows to enjoy the natural, cool air but we made it to the parking and found ourself a nice little parking space nevertheless.

The following blog post is going to be filled with pictures because again, a picture is worth a thousand words. I type till tomorrow morning also cannot beat one picture ah.

The view from First World Hotel lobby while waiting for my mom to pass me the room key. They arrived earlier and was in their room when we arrive.

Mandatory selfie because I can. Actually it's just to show off my latest catch. Pretty not my owl bangle? I got it from the pre-loved sale that Trendy Confessions had.

It has been a while since I am here in First World, I forgot how small the room was.

But still okaylah, at least I can still walk without banging into anything hehehe.

Since we're all adults and the theme park is closed, we tag along my mom and relatives to the only place that is available.. THE CASINO! I am still sad that they stopped checking my IC haha.

I used to stand outside here thinking when will I be able to get in. Now, they don't even wanna check my IC.

Trying my luck at the slot machine because I too kedekut to play on the table. I also only choose 2 cent machine.

After losing RM50 (I can eat a decent Japanese meal with that amount okay), we leave the casino that is filled with cigarettes and screaming senior citizens and walk from Resort Hotel to First World Hotel outdoor. Afterall, we're in Genting for the cold weather and fresh air.

Poser #OOTD post before I cover myself up because it was getting really cold.

Such happy sight to see the mist. I AM HERE FOR THE MIST OKAY! No mist = no cold. No cold how to act like Winter Sonata?

The path we used to walk back to First World. Luckily we are walking downhill because if I have to walk up, I don't think I can make it back to the hotel.

After all the walking and losing money (RM50 okay?), we were hungry and we went on to nom away in Hotpot. at about 5.30pm. We didn't really have breakfast as well, remember? I had so much curry fish ball (Yes, like the one sold in Jonker Street, Malacca) and beef, and squids, and vegetables I was so contented!

I am not a fan of steamboat because weather in Malaysia is too hot for steamboat but when I get to Genting or Cameron Highland, I'd always go for steamboat!

Here's a picture of me eating because I have accidentally deleted the pictures of my yummy steamboat filled with squids and meats. Ignore the empty bowl because I had finished eating everything inside and am waiting for the second batch to boil/cook.

View from our hotel room at about 7pm. I'm glad we are facing outdoor instead of another hotel room. The air is cooler and view is nicer! People are still working at building the theme park even when the sky is turning dark.

After our meal and before returning to the hotel, while we are on our way back to the hotel, we made a detour to the stage in First World Hotel because they were doing some performance on stage to attract people to watch iLuminate (Click on the link to find out more)

iLuminate hails from the United States and they first appeared in American Got Talent in 2011. They are not doing only a dance show. These dancers are all dressed in black as they fuse music, dance and technology using synchronized light displays for various effects. (This line I copy from Genting website haha)

So in layman term, they actually dance wearing all these LED lights on them and with the technology and their crazy dance skill, the entire show is supposed to be awesome! How did I know? I found them...on Youtube. See the video below, damn awesome one!

We were actually not convinced at first because when we arrived, the performance is dancing by a group of rookie dancers. Maybe not very rookie based on their look but the dance show is a little bit weak and we have doubts on the show that Genting brings on sometimes. But what convinced us to want to watch the show is the next performance. I was too focused that I forgot to take pictures. Really!

The performer was a guy from America as well and he is a circus performer so he did the usual clown act but what was amusing is not his tricks but his personality. He has a lot of facial expressions, he look like Mr Bean sometimes haha, and he can really connect with the audience below. He will finish a performance and expects people to cheer and when it's not loud enough, he will pretend to be disappointed and more so it was very entertaining to watch. We actually stayed for the entire performance! We never, ever did that before so it was a new experience and we Googled about iLuminate right away and found out how awesome they were. That is when we set out mind into catching the show.

Okay folks. I will leave the remaining adventure on Part 2 as the post is getting long.. Hope it's an enjoyable journey so far and are anticipating for Part 2!
