A Day With Sue | Episode 3 [Part 1]

Episode 3 (Part 1): Pulau Ketam (MUST VISIT)
*All pictures are unedited JPEG cos I lazy hahaha

Yes, there's a title this time because this place is special hehehe. I have always heard about Pulau Ketam and how it was a man-made island and it's like a larger version of Chew Jetty in Penang where the houses are built on wooden planks but I have never visited the island before, and it was about 2 years ago when I heard about it.

I was over excited when I know that I am going to be heading there, thanks to Kathy, who is stopping by Malaysia before going to Vietnam. We planned to hike Broga so she could have her sunrise shot but the boyfriend suggested Pulau Ketam instead so we could experience something different.

Taking a train to Port Klang!

Mandatory selfie with the train ticket

Such a pretty view. This was taken on the way to the island on a speedboat.

TT20, our home for the day, and night. Aunt Jennifer, who used to be tour guide when she was younger, decided to go back to her hometown, Pulau Ketam to her family home and soon later, bought another one and renovated it to be a comfortable homestay called TT20.

The hang out area that Aunt Jennifer made for her guests.

Random jetty from the tons of jetty just because it looks good hehehe.

This is Aunt Jennifer's house. She doesn't usually rent this out but on the day we went, something happened and the groups that was staying in the other house was big so she shifted the smaller group, which is us to her own house.

Imagine sleeping on the dock and staring at the stars at night

Boat pass by shot haha

Trying out sunset shot with the guidance of my awesome friend, Kathy.

We were actually standing at the bridge for about an hour for the sun to set. That's dedication, okay? Hahaha

Next, of course is to conquer Pulau Ketam food!

Freshly pressed bamboo water, sweetness beyond words. Just how I like it.

Spare parts porridge with raw egg, that of course gets cooked cause the porridge is hot enough to cook the egg but it's just right for our tongue. It tasted a little bland though, so be prepared to pour some soy from the bottle on the table.

Next, we went to a nearby restaurants for seafood because well, you're on an island so seafood is a given.

To conclude our dinner in Pulau Ketam, I can only say one thing. Although the look of all the dishes look promising and good, we can only taste salt. Everything is salty, not one of the dishes above taste half as edible as it look. I assume because they are surrounded by seawater and somehow the water they used are slightly salty? I have no idea lol.

Did I tell you their burger is also salty?

To conclude the night, we went to the temple and apparently it's either the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month so it was a very busy and lively night. We even manage to watch an opera show. Too bad it's in Teochew so we couldn't understand.

That was the end of one day. Although the boat ride and travelling on train was very tiring, it was a very valuable memory.

Stay tune for Part 2, for the next day's adventure! :)

[Beauty Review] BANCREAM Cover Gel

Most of you should know by now that I don't exactly have a slim waist and small thighs. In fact, I am a plus size who is *trying* to lose weight but before that, I do try to be proud of who I am so I started #OOTD series and try to look good.

Don't get me wrong, I do exercise, I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and lift weights (yeah, the big boy weights) cos I am lazy and I don't want to spend too much time in the gym running on treadmills. The reason why I am not losing weight is because....*jeng jeng* Yep, you got it right! I eat more than my gym sessions can burn so I am working on that part like trying to eat lesser.

So, here's some of my full body #OOTD that I was talking about

Look at the cellulite in the above picture please! So ugly lor. Then again, I doubt that anyone in this world will go like "Look at my celullite, so pretty!" Hahaha

So what exactly is cellulite and why do most of us women have it, regardless our age or size?
Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs, and usually occurs after puberty - Medical News Today

And then you will ask, what causes cellulites? So here, I'll give you some of the most common reasons.
  • Hormonal factors - hormones likely play an important role in cellulite development. Many believe estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process.
  • Genetics - certain genes are required for cellulite development. Genes may predispose an individual to particular characteristics associated with cellulite, such as gender, race, slow metabolism, distribution of fat just underneath the skin, and circulatory insufficiency.
  • Diet - people who eat too much fat, carbohydrates, or salt and too little fiber are likely to have greater amounts of cellulite.
  • Lifestyle factors - cellulite may be more prevalent in smokers, those who do not exercise, and those who sit or stand in one position for long periods of time.
  • Clothing - underwear with tight elastic across the buttocks (limiting blood flow) may contribute to the formation of cellulite.

So guys and girls, after all the boring scientific thingy about the cause, of course there will be ways to reduce cellulites like treatments, exercise and eating right. Also...

Introducing Bancream Cover Gel, the leading Anti-Cellulite and Slimming gel for two consecutive years in Watsons Thailand, has now landed in Watsons Malaysia! How does it help, you ask?

  • Ivy that helps boost blood circulation and plays an important role in cellulite reduction, skin toning, tightening, and refining. It also helps in eliminating waste products and fatty build-ups in the skin.

  • Caffeine, besides tasting yummy, it also assist in combating the appearance of orange peel skin with its diuretic properties. It also has the ability to stimulates breakdown of fat deposits under the skin. Also, caffeine penetrates the skin more easily compared to other ingredients of similar compounds.
Cover Gel claims to have the below benefits as well

  • Reduces cellulite and the appearance of orange peel skin
  • Improves blood circulation for rosy skin complexion
  • Increased skin elasticity and firmness

  • Help burns excess fats
  • Effective results within 7 to 14 days
Here I am now, showing off my fats and cellulites to do a review on whether does this cream really work or not.

I started using Bancream for about a week but I am not using it as religiously as I am supposed to, which means I either use it only at night or in the morning and I sometimes forgot that I have to apply them on -.- By saying that, do kindly note that my result are not the most optimum result and if you want optimum result, please be hardworking and apply it daily, morning and night!

I can't say for sure that I lost inches on my thigh area (once again, it's because I don't use it often), but with such minimal usage, I can definitely say that the amount of cellulites on my thighs decreased. Thighs are still huge but at least it looks smoother as the amount of cellulites reduced. On a plus side, the cooling gel works wonder in our weather! As we are battling with heat, our fats are battling with cold and it made the hot weather bearable as it cools me down hahaha.

Bancream Cover Gel can be purchased exclusively in any Watsons outlets at RM69.90.
